According to the specialist in audiovisual communication and image Guzmán Urrero, “both in cinema and in comics there is a construction of the sequence, following similar technical criteria to achieve the narrative rhythm. This fact is demonstrated by comparing a comic page with a storyboard page, which is the drawn planning of the sequences that will be used when preparing each shooting session. In fact, it is usual that people in charge of making the storyboard are cartoonists”.
Knowing the basic concepts of sequential art in comics is a powerful stimulus to the imagination and a fascinating introduction to the ninth art.
In the Comic Workshop we will deal with the importance of the characters in a story, building their physical and psychological portrait, as well as their motivations and conflicts. At the same time, we will work on aspects of vital importance such as tone, theme, argument, format…
Objectives:
- The main objective is for children to develop their creativity, while having fun and perfecting their reading and writing skills.
- Development of the capacity of expression and synthesis.
- Promotion of critical capacity, especially the critical reading of images and knowledge of the narrative genre.
- Stimulation of memory.
- Promotion of reading as a multidisciplinary element.
